Yest respiration

Postby Megan » Thu Feb 28, 2008 4:15 am

Hi
I've done my practical for my coursework on the effect of different sugar substrate on the yeast respiration. The problem was that one of the people in our group was so lazy so we fell behind and now the teachers don't let us to carry on with our practical.

I've got nice sets of results for Glucose and Fructose and nothing for Lactose and Sucrose.

I was wondeing if you could tell me the order of these sugars in order of their effct on the yeast respiration.

I've read that it should be:
Glucose, Fructose, Sucrose and Lactose

But I also heard that in practice it is:
Glucos, Sucrose, Fructose and Lactose

I'm sorry if I've confused you. Thanks.
